Andrew's Pitch

Image
Pitch 1: "Lonely Child" by NBA Youngboy. This is about a individual talking about his journey to purpose. I would definetly like to film this music video because it tells a true story filled of emotion and growth, and I feel like it can connect with a lot of people, especially those who may feel misunderstood. I am thinking of using close up shots and real looking moments to make the video feel powerful. This music video will inspire people to keep going no matter what. Even if there are hard times currently happening. It will showcase a deep and personal visual that can show anyone how to turn their pain into a strength. Pitch 2: "Street Runner" by Rod Wave. This is about an artist who is focused on his isolation and loneliness that he had when he got successful. I don't think I would want to film the video. While the message of the song can be powerful, and if I had to do it i'd use it as my backup. I think it's a little too much of a serious or emoti...

My Music Video Group

Image
Today, I will be discussing my Music Video. On this project, I decided to work with my friend Lincoln Rodgers. I chose to work with Lincoln for a multitude of reasons. To begin with, I have known Lincoln for over a year, and during that time period, we have gotten very, very close. He and I have worked on other projects together and have been very successful on them, so I don't see how this one could be any different. We also have other classes together, meaning we can collaborate outside of Media Studies if we have any free time. I always feel as if Lincoln and I are on the same page when it comes to getting work done, and that can be very beneficial. I trust him a lot with his judgment when it comes to how we are going to get stuff done, and without trust in your group partner, you won't be able to go far. Lincoln can help benefit the project by using his amazing editing skills to take the Music Video we have filmed and make it into something special. He is very intelligent ...

All about me

Image
Hello, my name is Andrew Cohen, I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and I am a sophomore currently enrolled in Fort Lauderdale High School! I love to play sports, video games, and travel. Now, let's begin! My main goal in life is to play Division 1 football in College, and then make it on to the NFL. My position in football is a kicker, and I would even like to be a coach someday. However, if that plan does not work out, I want to pursue Law, specifically sports agent Law, so I can still be involved in the sports realm. I am a part of the Pre-Law magnet here at Fort Lauderdale High School and participate in class mock trials, which I love to do. One of my favorite movies I ever watched was Paid in Full, which I watched over the summer. The movie included a lot of great and valuable lessons, and it was overall just a great watch. I have always been known to have a kind heart and to look out for others. I was always the friend who made sure everybody was included and having a good ...

Creative Critical Reflection

  1.   How does your product use or challenge conventions, AND how does it represent social groups or issues:      My product which is a Nike Football uses the standard conventions you would see in a sports commercial. It highlights the meaning of excellence in the field and the bonding that comes from teamwork, which is a part of Nike's branding. It challenges the conventions by showing that with a Nike football, this sport can be for anyone, regardless of who you are. I used the ball to promote the diversity that the sport can bring and hoped to show that football can be played anywhere. I also believe that my video showcased that football isn't just for professionals. Even a teen like me can perform on the field, so this can encourage more young individuals to get out there and chase their dreams. As a whole, my product reflects the traditional values found in an athlete and the diversity and unity this amazing sport includes. 2.  How does your product e...

My Commercial

Image
This was me and my teammates first-ever film project together, let alone a major project. After reflecting on how we did, I can definitely see some points of improvement, but my skills in editing and filming have largely improved. Regardless of any mistakes, overall, I am very proud of my project, no matter what, and it really showed me my potential within the filming realm!

Re-editing blog: Making it the best.

Once my partner and I finished the new recording recording, we went to edit the commercial. The first thing I looked for was whether it reached the time limit. Once again, kicking clips were cut short to fit in time. The first part of my editing was also done on my Macbook. I used to put all the clips into one file to make things easier. I also noticed that some of the other clips were too long and had to be cut short. So I decided to take some things out. I cut out specific scenes that wasted clock time or just didn't make sense to be in the video. Such as people in the stairs cheering. Once that was done I transferred the clips to CapCut on my phone. When using capcut it allowed me to add cool special affects to my commercial. I added things like subtitles for people who couldnt hear. I also added music to lighten the mood. After adding all of these, I really saw the commercial coming together. However, I wasn't done; I still had a lot more to do. I went to re edit the clip...
